  • It is the average amount of water used by each subscriber in a month. It allows us to know how much water families in each municipality receive and consume.
  • The Superintendency monitors, controls, and supervises companies that provide drinking water services and are registered in the Single Registry of Public Service Providers (RUPS). Its role is to verify that they fulfill their obligations and that the service is continuous, high-quality, and safe for users. It does not directly provide the service or execute residential public service projects.
  • It is the stratum assigned to households in Colombia. It is used to determine water consumption according to the economic conditions of the household.
  • It is the sum of all households (homes) that are connected to the water service and is used to calculate the average residential consumption.
  • It is reported in cubic meters (m³). One cubic meter is equivalent to 1,000 liters of water.
  • The Superintendency does not produce or take water quality samples. That task falls to service providers and health authorities. Superservicios reviews, verifies, and monitors that providers registered with the RUPS comply with quality standards and report information appropriately.
