The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) produced statistics reflecting the social, economic, and living conditions of the Wayúu indigenous people, providing concrete elements so that the entities in charge can formulate public policies that contribute to guaranteeing rights and, therefore, improving the living conditions of the Wayúu indigenous people.

The Wayúu Information System: The tool that integrates and disseminates information.
The system is a technical, culturally relevant, and inter-institutional tool developed by DANE in compliance with Constitutional Court Ruling T-302 of 2017. Its purpose is to integrate, organize, and disseminate statistical information on the Wayúu indigenous people in the municipalities of Uribia, Manaure, Maicao, and Riohacha.
